Breaking Ice

There has always been something about Malfoy. Before the war it was usually the way he could irritate me like no other, but even now, with him ignoring me all together, there’s still something that draws my eyes and my thoughts to him. Standing here, looking across the frozen lake, watching him slide so elegantly across its glassy surface, I think I finally have an idea what it is. It’s the way his arms are tucked into his body, the way his legs are crossed, the way his head is thrown back, pale strands of hair flaring, a look of total peace and abandon on his face as he spins; he’s the most graceful and beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

The outfit he’s wearing fits his body like a glove and doesn’t look very warm, but even from this distance I can tell that the flush on his cheeks isn’t because of the cold. I’ve seen ice-skating before, and it never interested me much, but he makes it the most captivating art I’ve ever witnessed. If he knew I was watching he’d probably scowl and glide off, shattering my first glimpse of him ever actually enjoying something.

I stifle a chuckle at the thought that I’d like to capture this moment in a snow globe, but my small movement causes the snow to crunch beneath my feet, and Malfoy’s frame stiffens as he turns to find me standing near the edge of the lake. We stare at each other for what seems like the longest moment in my life so far, with him seemingly calm and me nervous beyond reason over what his reaction will be. Then, unexpectedly, an almost imperceptible smile appears on his face before he speaks.

“Care to join me, Potter?”

“I… I don’t skate,” I flounder, staring at the hand he’s offered.

Malfoy smirks and Transfigures some nearby rocks into a pair of ice-skates. “Well, there has always been plenty of doubt about your intelligence, but I am sure you can learn.”

Still rather dumbfounded that he hasn’t sneered at me and stalked away, I sit down and fumble my way into the pair of skates. I have trouble getting back up and, surprising me again, Malfoy grabs my hands to pull me up while rolling his eyes and shaking his head at my helplessness. Not letting go, he sways his hips and guides me out to the middle of the lake.

“Now, I’m going to just barely keep a hold on your hand while you skate forward. I’ll tell you what you‘re doing wrong and how to fix it as we go along. The ice out here is nowhere near smooth, so only go as fast as you feel comfortable with and I’ll do my best to keep you from falling.”

“Why are you doing this, Malfoy?” I ask, still completely perplexed.

He just stares at me a while, with a searching look on his face, before smirking again. “I’m feeling generous.”

            Before I can even begin to make sense of that answer, he gives my hand a tug and we’re off. My balance is horrible and I feel like I’m back at the Yule Ball again with no idea what I’m supposed to do with my feet. I do my best to follow his instructions, and slowly surprise myself by actually getting better. Once we’ve gone back and forth a few times, Malfoy tells me I’m going to try skating backwards now. If I was nervous before, it’s nothing compared to now. Oddly enough though, I catch on rather quickly, and before you know we’re flying across the make-shift rink. The jubilant smile on my face falls open into a gasp, however, when I hit a bump in the ice and fall backwards.

            Thankfully, I land in the softer snow, rather than on the harsh ice, but this soon doesn’t make a much of difference when Malfoy lands on top of me, having been pulled by our still joined hand. For one tense moment I think he’s going to be upset, but once again proves me wrong and begins to laugh. I’ve never heard anything quite like it, but despite how much I want to just listen and take in such an elusive sound, I can’t help but laugh with him.

            He rolls off to lie next to me in the snow as we regain composure. Almost instantly I miss his weight on top of me and try my hardest not to frown and make it obvious; I doubt he’s paying much attention to my face right now, but still. It ends up being a good thing I did try to control my face because in the next moment Malfoy turns onto his side and props up his head on an arm.

“Well, as your teacher, I can certainly say that is a move not to be repeated. However, we probably did need a break, so this is as good an excuse to take one as any.” The goofy smile on his face is entirely mesmerizing and all I can do is stare. It slowly slips to confusion though when he notices. “What?”

“N-nothing. It’s just- I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile like that before.”

I’m still blatantly staring at him, my brain desperately trying to tell me to stop, while he looks down and blushes. “Yes, well, I guess I’ve never have much reason to smile before now, have I.”

“No. No I guess not,” I state stupidly. And when my limbs do finally decide to move, I reach out and brush some fallen hair out of his face and behind his ear.

            He looks at me, shocked, and before I fully know what’s happening, I have a lap full of beautiful Slytherin. For all I can tell, he’s decided to try the dementor method and extract my soul by means of sucking it out through my mouth. I have never been kissed so fiercely before but I am definitely not complaining. As his mouth moves to my neck my hands move through his hair, down his back, and find purchase on his amazing bum. The outfit he’s wearing allows me to feel everything so perfectly it’s almost as if he were naked.

            Our frotting becomes frantic and Malfoy’s whimpers are the most erotic sounds I have ever heard. I can’t hold off any longer, and come, groaning through my release. Malfoy loses it a moment later, and, almost too quietly to hear, sighs my given name. I cannot think of a time when my name has ever sounded more beautiful and cherished.

We kiss again for a moment before Mal- Draco curls around me and we attempt to regain our breath.

“I doubt that was in the book, but it’s certainly a lesson I’d like to be taught again.”

Draco huffs out a laugh. “I’d say that was more of a reward than a lesson, and a much deserved one at that. You caught on a hell of a lot faster than I thought you would actually.”

“Mmm. Believe me, I surprised myself,” I mumbled, my eyelids fluttering.

            With a swift whack to the chest Draco reprimanded me for falling asleep and suggested we should go inside, seeing as it was rather cold. With the hour being so late, there was no one else in the hallways and I was free to give Draco one more toe-curling snog before having to go our separate ways. As our foreheads rested together I made him promise he would owl about when we could meet next and asked him what this meant for us.

He smiled softly and replied, “Something good, Harry. Something good.”

Ok, so I kind of stretched the rules and looked everyone up I didn’t know... that’s why one’s with question marks are also sometimes italic or bold. Song for the week of Sept. 16th is Stuck in the Middle by Mika. I've had Mika songs stuck in my head for the past few days and this one was the main one today, so that's why is 'won' out of the many songs I was considered. And I considered so many b/c I didn't really have a theme to my week other than 'Ugh, I wanna vomit', which is hard to find in a song, so I had to choose from all the really good songs I've been listening to recently. 

Mika always reminds me of Ryan, which makes me smile while also feeling sad, b/c I miss him so. Stupid college.... lol. *mwahs for my PDA buddy*

I blame Ryan and Elliott for this one b/c they were egging me on about someone I like, which got that person stuck in my head, which reminded me of this song, which ended up being stuck in my head also. As usual, I can't remember a couple days out of my week, but that's ok! B/c I had an awesome Friday :) I hung out with Mandy and Cody almost all day and went to Appleton with them where I got a Marylin Manson shirt (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and a gay pride shirt!  They're so pretty ^_^ Oh, and I got the perfect socks for my Halloween outfit. Later that evening I also went to an impromtu get together at Bryce's house with just him, me, Lauren Fred, and Jessey; I finally learned how to play Apples to Apples and it can be so wrong, lol!

Anyways, anyone actually reading this probably doesn't care about that; you're just here for the song if you are even here at all! So, for the week of September 2nd the song is Golden Years by David Bowie. I recently aquired a copy of A Knight's Tale and had to watch it b/c it's awesome! This song was used in the banquet dance scene and I've had it stuck in my headd off and on since then.
